The Museum of Cool Kit

The Realms Museum is a large building made of sandstone, steel and glass. It is a fusion of modern and neo-clasical architecture. As you enter through the main doors you walk into the central hall. The ground floor is entirely taken up by raised pools and lush vegitation. This is the entrance foyer where people mill around, chat or just relax among the well lit greenery. Above you are 4 floors of gallaries in which are kept many of the exhibits on show. A large flight of stairs directly in front of you will take you up to the 1st floor. There are also arched entrance ways leading off the foyer into other exhibition halls. In these halls it is possible to wander around all day learning of the natural world and human kinds greatest and most infamous endevours.

There are have been many cool bits of kit over the years. These pages are, if you like, a homage to some of them. I hope to describe some pieces of kit which rate highly on my cool-o-meter and give an idea of why I think they deserve a place here.

Once I started to compile this list I realised how many of them where connected with the military. This came as no surprise to me. Although I am thoroughly against the idea of knocking lumps off someone simply because you don't like them or they own some land you think would be much better if you owned the technical aspects of military equipment are fascinating. I supose this is largely due to the fact that the military tend to have more money to spend on interesting hardware than anyone else.

So let's cut the chat and lay some of that funky tech on me, baby...
